How Do I Join the AFCC?
Applications for New Membership are only accepted in February of each year.
Please note that we are only able to respond to accepted applications.
AFCC is committed to a diverse, equitable, and inclusive membership, and encourages interested applicants who meet the requirements below to apply.
Any and all applicants to AFCC must:
- Have been a film critic (or adjacent subject matter expert) producing work for a minimum of 5 cumulative years
- Regularly contribute criticism to their outlet throughout each calendar year
- Provide AFCC’s Advisory Board with a variety of examples/links/press clippings to display scope and quality of work
- Maintain AFCC’s requirements for active membership (including voting for our annual awards), if application is approved
- Live in the Atlanta Metro area and/or write for a primarily Atlanta-based audience
